The readings of this day speak about the son of God; the light of the world.
The book of Numbers begins with the presence of God among His people to guide them and enlighten them on their way in the wilderness and the eyes of the people who do not see His work.
“And when it rested, he said: “Return, O Lord, To the many thousands of Israel.”
but now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!” (Numbers 10, 11)
And in the parables of Solomon, how the commandment preserves the way of man in life from missteps and slips.
” My son, let them not depart from your eyes– Keep sound wisdom and discretion;
Then you will walk safely in your way, And your foot will not stumble.
For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.” (Proverbs 3)
And in the book of Isaiah how all mankind sees in the fullness of time the salvation and glory of the Lord.
” Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough places smooth;
The glory of the Lord shall be revealed,” (Isaiah 40)
In the book of job, the light of the moon and the planets is weakened and vanishes before the light of the Lord.
” If even the moon does not shine, And the stars are not pure in His sight,” Job 25
His light isn’t also realized.
” He covers the face of His throne, And spreads His cloud over it.” (Job 26)
And in the Matins Psalm, His light and mercy are revealed in prayer and shouting.
” And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.” (Psalms 86)
In the Matins gospel, the Lord warns against unbelief, which slightly obscures the revealed light according to the chances of repentance, as if He were saying the light with you for a little while .
“He answered him and said, “O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me.” (Mark 9)
In the Pauline Epistle, it reveals the mission of the servants to proclaim the light of the Gospel to people, as well as the servants of the Light who are known for their ministry before all the people and their ministry is visible to all.
” But you know his proven character, that as a son with his father he served with me in the gospel.
Yet I considered it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, and fellow soldier, but your messenger and the one who ministered to my need;” (Philippians 2)
Catholic Epistle shows the constant and renewed enlightenment of the children of God in a life of repentance that enlightens the soul until the coming of the son of God.
” Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” (1 John 3)
He declares that the purpose of the appearance of the son of God in the flesh is to reverse the works of darkness, for this is why the children of God are visible in their lives, and so are the children of the world.
“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.” (1 John 3)
Praxis also reveals the light inside the servants and shepherds, the light of the heart and conscience.
“This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.
They ought to have been here before you to object if they had anything against me.
Or else let those who are here themselves say if they found any wrongdoing in me while I stood before the council,” (Acts 24)
In the psalm of the liturgy, the soul declares its basic need and the greatest good sign, the revelation of the son of God in our life, which is the greatest miracle and a sign that man needs.
“Show me a sign for good,” (Psalms 86)
The Gospel of the liturgy closes with the testimony of the son of God about Himself and shows the glory of His fellowship.
“Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” (John 8)
