The explanation of the readings of Saturday ;the fourth week

(Saturday of the fruits of knowing Him)

Today’s readings speak about the entrance and way of knowing the son of God and His divine presence in our lives, which is His fear and the fruit of His work in us.

The readings in the Matins Psalm begin with the declaration of the nature of those who hope for the righteousness of the Father, for He is their hope and luck in the land of the living.

“I cried out to You, O Lord: I said, “You are my refuge, My portion in the land of the living.”

(Psalms 142)

The Matins Gospel presents the story of the rich man, Lazarus, and the fate of the one who lives only for himself and closes his bowels from the needs of others, losing every fruit.

“But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.” (Luke 16)

He also explains that the fruit of righteousness is not possible in miracles and occultations, but in the word of God and its effect on souls.

But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’ ” (Luke 16)

And in Pauline Epistle, it reveals the many fruits of the Father’s righteousness.

“whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue ” (Philippians 4)

Catholic Epistle continues to talk about the fruits of righteousness that are in our communion with others.

“Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” (James 3)

And Praxis declares how the world rejects the righteousness of God, who judges and condemns it.

“And after some days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish, he sent for Paul and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.

Now as he reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and answered, “Go away for now; when I have a convenient time I will call for you.” (Acts 24)

The psalm of the liturgy reassures the soul of the inheritance of righteousness for the God-fearing.

“Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer.

You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name.” (Psalms 61)

And in the Gospel of the liturgy the word fruiting and fruit is repeated four times to emphasize the basis and reason for the reward or judgment.

He also warns churches that underestimate the righteousness of God and rely on formalities and false pride.

“Now when vintage-time drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive its fruit.

They said to Him, “He will destroy those wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other vinedressers who will render to him the fruits in their seasons.”

“Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it.” (Matthew 21)
