The explanation of the readings of Saturday ;the sixth week

(Saturday of crying and prayer)

The readings of this day speak of the cry for Grace and the great need for enlightenment as an entrance to the readings of one born blind (enlightenment and the revelation of the kingdom of the son of God .There can be no enlightenment as a divine gift without it being preceded and accompanied by the cry of prayer and the need for the presence of God and His kingdom on the soul always.

Therefore, all the readings of the Sabbath are focused on shouting, extreme need, what is the proper preparation and the atmosphere in which the kingdom of God and the mystery of his divine economy are revealed.

The Vespers Psalm begins with the confession of the human soul of its extreme poverty and its need for God’s mercies and divine mercies.

“Let Your tender mercies come speedily to meet us, For we have been brought very low.” (Psalms 79)

The Matins Gospel proclaims the glory and transcendence of grace (the grace of forgiveness of sins) over the needs of the flesh, and when the Lord sees our faith, He gives us the need of our souls, even if we do not ask for it or realize it.

“Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” (Matthew 9)

Pauline Epistle reveals the form of the Church of grace or the sphere and medium in which Divine Grace operates.

“with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit” (Ephesians 4)

And in this pure atmosphere, filled with the love and oneness of the soul, Grace is richly poured out.”But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.” (Ephesians 4)

Catholic Epistle admonish us for constant vigilance, the awakening of constant repentance and the supplication of grace (the grace of holiness), which sanctifies the whole being.

Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;

but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,” (1 Peter 1)

while Praxis reveals divine intervention at the time of the loss of all hope, the invalidity of all human solutions and the grace of escape from death.

“And because we were exceedingly tempest-tossed, the next day they lightened the ship.

On the third day we threw the ship’s tackle overboard with our own hands.Now when neither sun nor stars appeared for many days, and no small tempest beat on us, all hope that we would be saved was finally given up.” (Acts 27)

It also reveals that the grace of surviving the danger of death also includes unbelievers for the sake of His children.

“And now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship.

For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve,

saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you.” (Acts 27)

The psalm of the liturgy blesses souls who have received divine forgiveness in the grace of the New Testament.

“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.” (Psalms 32)

The Gospel of the liturgy concludes with the condition of humanity without grace “ “sitting on the road, he is begging “and the time of the visitation of the son of God and the visits of his grace,”when he heard that he was Jesus of Nazareth”.

And the cry of the soul thirsting for the light of grace

“he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!

Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, ”

And the response of heaven to the lovers of screaming and insistent demand for enlightenment.

“So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called.”

And the soul’s constant need to live in the light of the son of God.

“Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.” And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.” (Mark 10)
