The readings of this day speak about the awareness of the kingdom as a need for the unrepentant and as a strong support for the repentant and how we realize it in our lives and our eyes are always illuminated by it and our thoughts and insight are concentrated and limited in it.
The book of Proverbs begins that high things are perceived only by righteous, and enlightenment is a free gift that God gives to righteous and withholds it from hypocrites.
“The lips of the righteous feed many, But fools die for lack of wisdom.” (Proverbs 10)
In the book of Isaiah, there is a prophecy about the fullness of time and the peak of the revelation of the kingdom of God in the incarnation of the son of God, His salvation and the Enlightenment of nations and peoples far from God.
It shows the extent and richness of the grace of the new covenant
for the humiliated, hated and weak and how they become the children of God and be a reason to enlighten many people.
“I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, That You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ”
Thus says the Lord, The Redeemer of Israel, their Holy One, To Him whom man despises, To Him whom the nation abhors, To the Servant of rulers” (Isaiah 49)
In the book of Job, God asks Job reproachfully whether he is aware of everything that is happening in the universe, so human wisdom is nullified in front of God’s wisdom and economy.
“Who can number the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the bottles of heaven,
“Do you know the time when the wild mountain goats bear young? Or can you mark when the deer gives birth?
Because God deprived her of wisdom, And did not endow her with understanding.” (Job 38,39)
In the Matins psalm, the soul’s awareness of its sin and its constant need for repentance is shown.
“For I will declare my iniquity; I will be in anguish over my sin.” ( Psalms 38)
And in the Matins gospel, the Lord warns against offenses as a sign of our unawareness.
“but woe to him through whom they do come!
It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
Take heed to yourselves.” (Luke 17)
In Pauline Epistle, the importance of the awareness of the praying church and the need to pray with the mind as with the spirit, and here the mind means the mind of the other, that is, the participants in worship.
“I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.
Otherwise, if you bless with the spirit, how will he who occupies the place of the uninformed say “Amen”
at your giving of thanks, since he does not understand what you say?
For you indeed give thanks well, but the other is not edified.” (1 Corinthians 14)
Catholic Epistle declares the church’s awareness of the coming of the Lord and the revelation of His kingdom to mankind.
“But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” (2 Peter 3)
In Praxis, it declares the absence of Jewish consciousness and their rejection of St. Paul’s testimony about Him.
“Now it happened, when I returned to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple, that I was in a trance
and saw Him saying to me, ‘Make haste and get out of Jerusalem quickly, for they will not receive your testimony concerning Me.”
(Acts 22)
In the psalm of the liturgy, it emphasizes the greatest enlightenment which is that of the penitents, who know their sins and offer repentance for them.
“Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin.
For I acknowledge my transgressions,” (Psalms 51)
The Gospel of the liturgy concludes with the most difficult and dangerous fate of rejecting the declarations of the Lord’s arm and his power that the Lord hides from souls for the darkness of the inner soul’s eye and the hardness of hearts closed to the light of the son of God. They loved the glory of people more than the glory of God.
“These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them.
“He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, Lest they should see with their eyes, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.”
These things Isaiah said when he saw His glory and spoke of Him.” (John 12)
