The explanation of the readings of Monday the third week

The readings of the week begin with the enlightenment of repentance, that is, true repentance enlightens the soul, illuminates the way, guarantees its safety and security, and it is also the light of the church and the guarantee of her victory. It is the insight that knows the truth, the trained senses to distinguish between good and evil, and the heavenly wisdom that God gives to His children.

Therefore, Solomon’s proverbs begin with the call of wisdom, the Son the Word, to the peoples and to every soul by repentance, the result of response, the seriousness of rejection and its consequences.

“Wisdom calls aloud outside;

“How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity?

Turn at my rebuke;

Because I have called and you refused, I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded,

“Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.

But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil.” (Proverbs 1)

In the book of Isaiah, the call is addressed to all His people with a reproach for turning to fortune-tellers, and if God veiled His face in the old days, then in the fullness of time His light shines on all nations, not to see an ordinary light, but to see the sun of righteousness, which not only illuminates but rises from death.

“The Lord of hosts, Him you shall hallow; Let Him be your fear, And let Him be your dread.

And I will wait on the Lord, Who hides His face from the house of Jacob; And I will hope in Him.

And when they say to you, “Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,” should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living? The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined.”  (Isaiah 8,9)

The prophecy also announces the coming of the son of God in order to bring peace to all mankind.

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end,”   (Isaiah 9)

In the Matins psalm, the light of the son of God does not reveal the sins of souls, but covers them up and leaves them, but also does not account for them in the calculations of divine judgment, and that the door of enlightenment of peoples is God’s forgiveness of their sins.

“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, ” (Psalms 32)

The Matins Gospel proclaims the danger of false knowledge and erroneous ideas about God that make man fruitless.

“For I feared you, because you are an austere man. You collect what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’  (Luke 19)

It also reveals the fate of those who reject the kingdom of God and his call.

“For I say to you, that to everyone who has will be given; and from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.

But bring here those enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, and slay them before me. ”  (Luke 19)

Pauline Epistle calls on the church to purify it from the evil from the inside and enlighten it in adjudicating and judging people’s problems instead of resorting to civil courts.

“Do you not judge those who are inside?

But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.”

And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?

If then you have judgments concerning things pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge?”

(1 Corinthians 5, 6)

As for Catholic Epistle,it raises our eyes above to see our heavenly inheritance ready to be proclaimed, and to live on Earth our precious salvation, which the angels desired to look into it  and the prophets looked forward to it, for which we are purified every day with the fire of the spirit to be considered worthy of the revelation of the son of God.

“to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,

who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,

that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully,  -things which angels desire to look into.”  (1 Peter 1)

Praxis reveals an enlightened church that is active and attentive to the word.

“These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.”  (Acts 17)

And in the psalm of the liturgy the soul confesses its sins.It is confident of God’s forgiveness

“I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. ”  (Psalms 32)

The Gospel of the liturgy concludes with the inner purity of Man, the inner eye of the heart, which is entered by the senses and the physical eye and which can make the whole being of man enlightened or darkened.

“The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.

Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness.”  (Luke 11)
