Today’s readings speak about the righteousness of the Father to the nations and to all peoples, the expansion of the fold of faith for all nations and how peoples ask for the Father’s righteousness and mercy
The book of Deuteronomy begins with the announcement of God’s economy in His choice of the Jews.
“The Lord delighted only in your fathers, to love them; and He chose their descendants after them, you above all peoples, as it is this day.”
(Deuteronomy 10)
But this choice is connected to a will.
“Therefore you shall keep every commandment which I command you today, that you may be strong, and go in and possess the land which you cross over to possess,” (Deuteronomy 11)
But God paved His people in ancient times to love other peoples in preparation for the fullness of time, the disappearance of enmity between all mankind and the acceptance of nations.
“Therefore love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.” (Deuteronomy 10)
The book of Isaiah proclaims the joy of the wretched and hopeless in the God of Israel.
“The humble also shall increase their joy in the Lord, And the poor among men shall rejoice In the Holy One of Israel.” (Isaiah 29)
The book of Job warns of the danger of rejecting the righteousness of the Father from the wicked.
“Yet they say to God, ‘Depart from us, For we do not desire the knowledge of Your ways.
Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him? And what profit do we have if we pray to Him?”
(Job 21)
In the book of Daniel, the gentile King acknowledges God’s wonderful work with His children and believers in Him.
“I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, And steadfast forever; He delivers and rescues, And He works signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.” (Daniel 6)
Therefore, in the Matins psalm, the soul praises the Lord for His righteousness with His children in His help and His support for her.
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped;” (Psalms 28)
In the Matins gospel, the righteousness of the Father is preached in His son Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind from the power of the devil.
“For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.”
And the report about Him went out into every place in the surrounding region.” (Luke 4)
Pauline Epistle reassures the Jewish believers of the New Testament not to grieve for the altar they have lost, looking at the altar of the New Testament and its bloodless sacrifices.
“We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat.
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” (Hebrews 13)
Catholic Epistle also affirms that the salvation of the son is for the whole world.
” but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. And we have seen
and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.” (1 John 4)
Therefore, in Praxis, God calls Saint Paul to set out for the nations and preach salvation to them.
“and saw Him saying to me, ‘Make haste and get out of Jerusalem quickly, for they will not receive your testimony concerning Me.’
Then He said to me, ‘Depart, for I will send you far from here to the Gentiles. ” (Acts 22)
The psalm of the liturgy teaches where man finds the righteousness of God in his Holy Temple.
“Hear the voice of my supplications When I cry to You, When I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary.” (Psalms 28)
The Gospel of the liturgy concludes with the faith of the Canaanite woman, who transcended and rose above the faith of
the sheep of the House of Israel and became a model of the faith of the Gentiles.
“But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”
And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.” (Matthew 15)
