The explanation of the readings(the sixth Sunday)

The readings of the sixth Sunday tell us about the Lord Jesus, glory be to Him,the King, the Conqueror, the Head of the body. After He had completed the economy by the ascension in body to the heaven, the victory of the church was revealed in Him and through Him.The church has got the permanent victory as long as the Son is her Head,Leader and her first Bishop

The holy church has become in Christ on the right of the Father;the church became worthy of Christ’s richness, gifts and His divine righteousness. The church was revealed as the Christ’s body; the Christ ascended with His human body, with the church; His body, to the Father to become a glorious church, not having a spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

So the psalms express these gifts in psalms (N. 146,147); these are the psalms of praise and glorification because the Christ’s ascension with His body to the heaven and the revelation of the church; His body and the mission of the Holy Spirit are the source of the permanent joy for the church.

Vespers psalm

The vespers psalm starts with the praise of the Son who reigns (with His ascension with His body)forever.” “Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! While I live I will praise the Lord; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. The Lord shall reign forever-“(Psalms 146:1,2,10)

Matins psalm

In Matins psalm,it talks about the praise of the son who gathers His outcast church and sons,”Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful. The Lord builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel.” (Psalms 147:1-2)

Liturgy psalm

In the liturgy psalm,it talks about the Son’s praise for blowing His Holy Spirit on the church”Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion! He sends out His word and melts them; He causes His wind to blow, and the waters flow.” (Psalms 147:12,18)

The Vespers gospel

In Vespers gospel,it demonstrates that the Son on the right of the Father is the mystery of the permanent church victory over Satan.

This is the revelation of the Holy Spirit to the prophets. “For David himself said by the Holy Spirit: ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” (Mark 12:36)

The gospel also declares that the backbone of the church; the Christ’s body,is love (as Fr Beshoy Kamel said)

Loving God with all the heart

Loving the neighbor like yourself “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31)

Matins Gospel

As for the Matins gospel,it tells us about the Son’s gifts to the members of His body for the sake of the Father’s glory. “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My

name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. (John 14:12-13)

Pauline Epistle

In Pauline Epistle,it tells us about the Father who gives us the victory through His Son,Jesus Christ,” But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:57)

It also talks about the company of giving in the church as a sign of one body

“Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also: On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come. And when I come, whomever you approve by your letters I will send to bear your gift to Jerusalem. (1 Corinthians 16:1-3)

The Pauline Epistle concludes with St.Paul’s longing for attending the Pentecost,” For I do not wish to see you now on the way; but I hope to stay a while with you, if the Lord permits. But I will tarry in Ephesus until Pentecost.

(1 Corinthians 16:7-8)

Catholic Epistle

In Catholic Epistle,it talks about the triumph with God’s power and the church’s faith, the necessity of the existence of the temptations for recommending their faith and testing it with the fire of temptations “who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,” (1 Peter 1:5-7)

It also talks about the mission of the Holy Spirit from the heaven,” To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven–things which angels desire to look into.” (1 Peter 1:12)

Praxis

In Praxis,it tells us about the revelation of the power of life and victory over death through the presence of the Head of the body in the midst of the church; His body in the Holy

Communion.” Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them But Paul went down, fell on him, and embracing him said, “Do not trouble yourselves, for his life is in him.” Now when he had come up, had broken bread and eaten, and talked a long while, even till daybreak, he departed. And they brought the young man in alive, and they were not a little comforted. (Acts 20:7-12)

Praxis concludes with St.Paul’s longing for attending the Pentecost “For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so that he would not have to spend time in Asia; for he was hurrying to be at Jerusalem, if possible, on the Day of Pentecost. “(Acts 20:16)

The liturgy gospel

As for the liturgy gospel,it tells us about the relationship of the church with the Father within the Son and through Him

“And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”(John 16:23-24)

The gospel ends with the mystery of the church’s victory in every generation;the Son is her Leader and her Head,

” These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” .”(John 16:33)
